The Czech Republic’s electricity transmission system operator ČEPS appointed Omexom to double a 100km-long 400kV powerline in the country. The project represents the largest investment in the development of the Czech transmission system in 20 years.
Omexom, the VINCI Energies brand specialising in electricity generation, transmission, conversion and distribution projects, worked as part of a consortium on the project to double the V410 400kV powerline, which connects the substations of Výškov in the Ústecký region and Čechy Střed in Central Bohemia.
The line plays an important part in the development of the Czech transmission system, explaining the decision to boost its transmission profile by doubling it.
Almost 100km long and with around 150 people permanently mobilised on site, the project required significant technical and human resources. Two local VINCI Energies companies were involved. This is the largest investment in the development of the Czech power transmission system in 20 years.
