Omexom is involved in installing the control and signalling systems for Amsterdam’s metro lines (Netherlands), including those for the new North/South line.
Alstom has won a contract to replace the safety and signalling system for Amsterdam’s metro lines, as well as for the new North/South line, a key transport artery which will connect the suburbs north of the River Ij, the city centre and the south of Amsterdam.
Having successfully installed an initial plant room for the “Noord” station, Omexom, the VINCI Energies brand specialising in electricity generation, transmission, transformation and distribution projects, has been appointed by Alstom to carry out further design, engineering, installation, testing and commissioning activities.
Omexom is thus responsible for executing the plant rooms for the “Vijzelgracht” and “Centraal” stations and for carrying out the ground installation works and wiring for the North/South line’s safety and signalling systems from North to RAI and recently for the existing line from Central Station to Spaklerweg.
The new control and signalling system covering the North/South line and existing lines partially uses a new radio control system for communication with the metro’s.
Omexom’s section of the project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2016.
